Lionpaw x Heatherpaw Confirmed as canon in an author tracker email before the release of Dark River, Lionpaw and Heatherpaw are still very undeveloped in The Sight and are certain to develop more in The Power Of Three as a secret cross-clan relationship. Both are introduced to eachother at a gathering, Heatherpaw having been made an apprentice a moon or so before Lionpaw, this being his first gathering. Lionpaw is immediately stunned by Heatherpaw's looks, particularly her unusual heather-coloured eyes.

It's likely that as this pairing develops it will face great challenges from both Clans - WindClan and ThunderClan are sure to disagree about the half-Clan blood that's raising hostility in the two other Clans, as well as troubles from Lionpaw's own kin. Jaypaw can sense emotion and tread in dreams, so he's sure to pick something up from Lionpaw if his brother is doing something wrong, and Hollypaw, acutely aware of Clan politics and preacher of the Warrior Code is sure to have problems with this new development.

Suddenly a soft voice sounded in his ear. "Are you Jaypaw's brother?"

[Lionpaw] swung his head around to find a light brown tabby she-cat gazing at him with eyes the color of a late-afternoon sky.

"Y-yes," he stammered. "How did you know?"

"Berrypaw told me. I'm Heatherpaw, by the way."

Because your eyes are the color of heather...

The Sight, page 136

This quote pretty much speaks for itself, as Lionpaw is stunned by Heatherpaw's beauty, particularly her blue-violet coloured eyes. However, despite how awestruck Lionpaw is, Heatherpaw seems to be chatty and relaxed - chatty that is, about Lionpaw's brother, Jaypaw.

Lionpaw forced himself to stop gaping like a startled rabbit. "Jaypaw? he echoed. "Oh, he's fine now."

The Sight, page 136

Again, Lionpaw is stunned by Heatherpaw, and he has to force himself to stop gaping. So sweet!

"I still can't believe he was out alone when he's blind," Heatherpaw breathed. "He must be so brave!"

Lionpaw felt a twinge of envy. "Most of the time he's just grumpy," he told her. "Especially now that he's been confined to the camp for a quarter moon.

The Sight, page 136

Lionpaw's twinge of envy automatically relates to us that yes, he's finally noticed that Heatherpaw is talking in a breathy voice about his brother, and that he obviously wants her to think he's brave.

This pairing is so undeveloped that it's hard to say where it's going. Lionpaw is obviously entranced in The Sight, but Heatherpaw not so much. Will this situation change in Dark River? It's likely, since we have been told that Heatherpaw and Lionpaw are meeting secretly in the next book.
