Russetfur is described as a dark ginger she-cat. It is assumed from her name that her coloration is dark black/red pelt.
HISTORY
ittle is known about Russetfur's background. It is said in A Dangerous Path that she is a 'former rogue', but this does not mean she was not born in ShadowClan. Brokenstar's elite circle was banished from ShadowClan in the first book, and they all became rogues. Later on Tigerstar recruited them and brought them back to ShadowClan. Russetfur could have been an original ShadowClan elite, or she could have been a rogue all her life before A Dangerous Path. The banishment theory is more likely, since she believes strongly in pure-blood. Russetfur was appointed deputy by Blackstar when he became leader.
