PHYSICAL

Graystripe is a handsome long-haired solid gray tom, with amber eyes and broad shoulders. A single darker stripe runs down his back.

PERSONALITY

Graystripe is an easy-going, friendly, optimistic cat. He is friends with almost everyone, and he is not afraid to take chances. Although his willingness to take risks can sometimes get him into danger, he always manages to get out.

HISTORY

INTO THE WILD Listed as ThunderClan apprentice: Graypaw

Graypaw is the first Clan cat we see in the series. He attacks Rusty, but after realizing that he isn't as easily frightened as most kittypets Graypaw starts a chat with him [ITW1]. Soon Rusty becomes Firepaw, and they become best friends. Graypaw looses his beloved mentor Lionheart when the golden tom falls in battle [ITW17]. At the end of the story Graypaw and Firepaw are sent to reclaim Yellowfang and find her innocent, so they aid in ShadowClan/ThunderClan efforts to liberate ShadowClan [ITW24]. They succeed, and are rewarded with their warrior names, Graystripe and Fireheart [ITW25].

GENERAL
Graypaw, the ThunderClan apprentice, was the first cat to meet Firepaw. He attcked him bravely, and since then they have been the best of friends. In Fire and Ice he fell in love with the RiverClan she-cat, Silverstream after being rescued from drowning. Fireheart tried in vain to convince his friend to end their forbidden relationship. I the end, Silverstream dies in Forest Of Secrets when giving birth to Graystripe's kits. Featherkit and Stormkit begin their lives in ThunderClan, when RiverClan demands the kits belong in their mother's Clan. Knowing the truth, Graystripe decides that he can not be parted with his kits, since they are his only connection with Silverstream. He takes them across the border, and becomes a warrior in RiverClan.

Eventually, Graystripe returns to ThunderClan, unable to be away from his birth Clan, and his best friend Fireheart. Graystripe becomes deputy in The Darkest Hour when the current depudy, Whitestorm, is killed. In Dawn Graystripe is captured and taken away by twolegs. Through this time he has no contact with the Clans, and stars in his own Graphics Novel Saga, The Lost Warrior. Graystripe will eventually return to the Clans. Love life: In Fire and Ice and Forest of Secrets Graystripe had a secret relationship with the RiverClan warrior Silverstream. During Silverstream's kitting, she died, and Graystripe hasn't had a mate since. Their kits, Feathertail and Stormfur, still live on as RiverClan warriors.
