Cherry, as a local apprentice with her brother Boris used to harass Sky, the loner they had cruelly named Moony. When Firestar offers them a chance to learn how to hunt and then later to join SkyClan, they except with some reluctance to leave their home. Cherrypaw is eager to join the Clan, but does not understand the implications of Clanlife until the battle with the rats. She survives and at the end of the book is given her warrior name and first apprentice by Leafstar.
