The HF Trilogy Closes
You may have heard of "HF" if you're a member of Warrior's Wish forum, you have a friend who's a member of Warrior's Wish forum, or if you pay a lot of attention to Warrior's Wish. Who is HF? He's the villainous mascot of Ww, whose acronym name stands for none other then Hawkfrost (though he has a developed character much different from the canon HF).
On Warrior's Wish forum, around every three months since last January, we host a huge forum wide game with all manner of puzzles, riddles and codes for the members to solve, in order to unravel the plot and often "rescue" something (or someone) of value. But HF's trilogy of mind-bending games comes to a close on August first, 2007. If you're interested in reading more about Ww forum games and the HF games, this article is for you.
Who is HF?
HF began as the character "Hawkfrost" in the Warriors series, but quickly developed a personality of his own. He looks the same -- handsome dark tabby with a white chest and ice blue eyes. His personality though? HF looks down on everyone, and everything! He's the evil genius who's going to rule Ww forum, and he'll never hesitate to comment on how you're not worthy to even look at him. His infamous catch-phrase is also referring to everyone as, "Dearies".
The idea for what became the HF trilogy started over skype with a conversation between Blackheart and Blizz (who was a huge Hawkfrost fan at the time). Jokingly, Blackheart suggested the creation of an evil, secret Hawkfrost cult, but the idea quickly developed into a huge puzzle game for the members to play: "The Hawkfrost Conspiracy".
The first game, THE HAWKFROST CONSPIRACY, centered around the idea that HF, the evil and mysterious villain who's true name yet to be revealed kidnapping Blizz in attempt to take over Warrior's Wish. With the help of some mysterious guests, the members unraveled plenty of nearly impossible clues, riddles, and codes. Through the game, more kidnappings happened, and creepy audio clips indicated just what was going on. In the end, it was revealed that HF was indeed Hawkfrost, and the evil villain was thwarted and sent on his way.
A few months later though, HF returns with another scheme. Blizz has fallen in love with him, and with her as Queen of Ww, and him as King, they intend to capture Erin Hunter and have her write HF back into the books. The moderators: those who watch the forum to make sure all is well, are kidnapped by Hawkfrost's elite guard: Tigerstar, Brokenstar, Scourge and Darkstripe. The forum's only hope of stopping HF and his supporters is to free the moderators. This time though, they must put together a puzzle of the future -- the death of Scourge, Brokenstar, and Tigerstar is a big image that Autumn drew, and the eighty-so pieces are hidden all over Warrior's Wish! This was an individual game, where members raced to get the pieces by themselves. Of course in the end they finished the puzzle and freed the moderators, who chased HF out of Ww and forbade him to return. But the end of HF RETURNS hints to another adventure to come...
The final HF adventure: THE POWER OF FOUR stars HF's three kits: Frostkit, Jaguarkit, and Blizzardkit, who are dreadfully behaved and spoiled. But Blizz forbids the moderators from stopping the three as they rudely insult the members and the forum, and spam all over! It's up to the members again, as well as the mysterious guest named R. Patience to stop the kits. This time the solution is to find the kits three hidden rooms, the key (password) to the rooms, and the kits favorite item to hold hostage in hopes they behave. Like in the first game, this one is full of codes and riddles that eventually lead the members to the rooms, items and keys. But things have just gotten started: The members discover a fourth room, which they make the mistake of opening!
Now Starkit, the fourth kit, who is evil and bent on her fathers death, has been let loose from her room. Gorsecloud has been locked in the room by Starkit, and then the room disappears. Where's Gorsecloud? Why was Starkit locked up? What's going on? The members have no time to contemplate the answers before Midnight strikes and Starkit announces her verdict -- unlike her father, she is interested only in destroying Warrior's Wish, right after killing her father! The members now have to hide HF as well as save Gorsecloud. The plan is to hide HF is their signatures and avatars: a small pixel of him is identical to the on of Warrior's Wish, except for the URL: hideme.gif! HF is impossible to find in a sea of identical pixels, and Starkit seems doomed to fail. That is until she hacks into her mothers account and tricks a member out of his location! The real HF pixel has disappeared, and been replaced with "gotcha, gif".
Meanwhile they're getting closer to rescuing Gorsecloud. When they finally reclaim the hidden fourth room and open the door, she is obviously disturbed and needs help -- she is babbling words that don't make sense, the same phrase of "the catacombs". The final journey of the game is to find the final hidden room: far below the earth of Starkit's room, "the catacombs" are a series of dark tunnels that are a claustrophobic nightmare! They must be navigated -- after entering there's no way to get out, and the stench of something rotting is filling the tunnel! It leads into an open chamber, where the conclusion to the games is revealed: HF has been murdered by Starkit.
It's time for the apprentice ceremony of the three kits, and there first duty is to chase Starkit away from Warrior's Wish forever, and not return until their task is complete. So ends HF's legacy, for it seems as if never again will a Ww member be called "dearie", nor are they in trouble of getting taken over by an evil mastermind.
