The Forum Deletion
This is the second Warrior's Wish Forum (WwFv2). The original was hosted at Proboards.com. It was deleted on July 23rd, 2007, and created July 29th 2006. This forum (v2) was created on phpbb message boards on July 23rd, 2007.
The trouble started on July 20th 2007, when an anonymous member reported Ww Forum to Proboards Administration for having members under thirteen years of age, a violation of the terms of service.
Because Warriors Wish Forum appealed to a younger age group, the forum attempted to skirt the policy by creating accounts with the administrators email and birthdate for underage members use, so as to protect the privacy of the younger members. According to the COPPA Act, this was within the rules.
Ww forum was shut down sometime in early morning on July 23rd 2007 by Proboards administration without warning or explanation. Later on it was found out that it was because of the new attempt to allow underage members on.
Forum members met in the userplane chat, pretty devastated by the news. Over 2500+ members had been deleted, along with thousands of threads containing quality debates, information and archives, with no chance of recovery.
Warrior's Wish forum starts over again on Monday, July 23rd 2007. Now we're rebuilding ourselves, but it takes much time and effort. We lost a lot on the old forum, but as any Warrior's Wish member will tell you, we never lost what we truly needed to begin again: our community. The struggles faced by Warrior's Wish after this sad event have been compared to those in The New Prophecy: we are uprooted from our home by a force we cannot control and must find a place to resettle, and even though Ww v2 will never be the same, we can learn to live and love our new home! These events have brought new depth to the second series, as well as remind us what Ww is really made of. Warriors Wish members have true Warriors spirit, and because of that, we will never be defeated!
