Warriors: An Animated Fan-Series?

WARRIORS: THE ANIMATED SERIES, is a long-term project to make the Erin Hunter Trio's series of novels into a full-color, animated production complete with original intros and extro themesongs, background music, and voiceovers. Brackenmask serves as the director of the project, animated by herself and Autumn. Other Warriors fans act as scripters [Kitsune], voice coordinators [Darkstar], supervisors [ForceStar], sound crew [Darkstar And Blizz] and assistants [Blackheart]. The project is being sponsored by Warrior's Wish.

I'm going to try my best to clear this up; the first episode won't be OUT in two weeks, as it hasn't yet been started on, BUT when they DO start on it, after they finish all the boring preliminary stuff, it will take about 2 weeks to make between Autumn and Bracken.

-This is a Warriors series based off of the book series. It'll be made with Flash, you can try a 30-day free trial and Adobe.com.
-Each book will be split into 5 parts.
-Most music will be without lyrics (background, beginning theme, ending theme, etc). If you know of any good website to find background music, please PM Darkstar.
-The length of each episode is still unknown, we're guessing around 8-12 minutes.
-It may take awhile for the episodes to get made. Please be patient, the crew is working really hard to get all this done.

Crew

Who, as of now is part of the crew?

Animators: Bracken and Autumn
Coordinator: ForceStar
Head of Scripts: Kitsune-kit
Head of Audio: Darkstar and Blizz
Assistant: Blackheart

Do you guys work on it together, like, do you guys know each other?

I don't believe any of us know eachother in real life, but I'm not sure.

Episodes

What is it going to be about? Is it based on Into the Wild?

It's for the whole Warriors series as we know it; five episodes per book. For those bad at math: 30 episodes per series.

Approximately, how long is each episode going to be?

That has yet been decided. Autmun and Bracken haven't story-boarded an episode yet so it'll be hard to tell. I think each will be 8-12 minutes.

Remember, each book is split into 5 PARTS. Each part may be 8-12 minutes. No less than 5 and no longer than 15 (hopefully).

How long will it take you to complete the first episode?

It will probably take quite a while. Two weeks at the very least from beginning to finish. For top quality work, it'll be about six hours per minute of animation.

When will it finish?

The first episode or two are hoped to be out by summer '07, as it does take quite a long time to fully animate things.

Will the series be in color?

Yes, the series will be in color.

Voices

Would you include subtitles in the animations? I think subtitles would be good idea for anybody when their computer speakers is broken or anyone whose haven't got speakers. Would there be subtitles?

Most likely there will be a subtitled version, though the basic version will not have subtitles. Eventually we may look for translators to sub as well.

I've got one quick question, will the series air on YouTube, or will you have a seperate site all about the series to air them on?

There will most likely be a separate site created by Autumn, but the series will also be hosted on YouTube, Deviantart, and Newgrounds. The series might also be available on Warrior's Wish. We want to make sure everyone can see it ;)

How are you going to separate who's going what part?

If you mean casting- Darkstar is our head of audio. She has our current 'up for grabs' parts in the thread. Anybody can audition- the only criteria is how good your voice sounds for the character. Please, feel free to drop in and see if your voice clip fits the character. We're really in need of male voices.

Are all the voice auditions done?

No, we still have many more auditions for people to try for.

How do we let you hear are voice [windows]?

I'll explain... You'll need a microphone.

If you have a Windows computer, go to start/programs/accessories/entertainment/Sound Recorder. You can use that to record clips of up to 60 seconds length. Click the red button to record and the black square to stop recording. If you want more control, use a program like Audacity, which is free.

Once that's done, you'll need to upload it on a site like Snapdrive, Box.net or Freewebs- Box and Freewebs are easiest, I use Snap because the other two don't work for me but it's antsy recently.

How do we let you hear are voice [mac]?

It depends which computer and operating system you have. First; double check that you have the internal mic. There should be a little hole on the (top) right side of the screen.

If you have Tiger, go into your applications folder and choose GarageBand. From there, you can create a "podcast recording", but if you send it to your iTunes it will save as a sound file.

If you don't have Tiger, go into your applications again (it may be in utilities, don't think so) and find Sound Studio. This application will record stuff and you can save it as a sound file.

Finally, if you can't find either of those programs, check out the free program Audacity.

Are you guys going to have a designated time for Voice Auditions? Or are there even any?

Go to the board 'Random Babble' and stickied on the top will be the thread for Voice Auditions. Rules and everything are stated in the first post.

What types of files are accepted for voice auditions?

Mostly .wav and .mp3. I would really appreciate if there were no .wmv files because I can't listen to those.

I'm not a member on the forum, how can I get involved in voice recordings and stuff?

Even if you're not a member (which you should be, it's easy to join!) you can still post as a guest on Ww forum with your voice auditions. You can also e-mail Bracken with your voice clips at crazykiity@yahoo.com

Music

Do you know if there will be any background music or a "theme song"? If there is, what is it?

Yes, there will be background music. I don't think there'll be a specific Warriors theme song. We do have one for the Intro theme animation. It'll probably be just various background music that matches the scene. The background music will be royalty-free, so chances are you haven't heard it yet ;)

Hey, Bracken. I have a pretty advanced music program on my computer. PM me if you need any original sound-tracks/music for it.

We can use all the help we can get :) Just because you aren't part of the crew doesn't mean that we won't use you. Please PM Darkstar, as our head audio, and she'll take it from there.

As a general invitation- if you think you can be of any help whatsoever, PM one of us. We'd be glad to get new people to help with the project.

Misc.

A lot of people and Warriors sites have said that they're going to make an animated series, but it never happens. What makes you different?

There's no way to prove that this will really happen, but I've seen some of the preliminary work myself-- and it's fabulous. Don't doubt Autumn and Bracken with all the animation work; they're dedicated! ^^ I'm sure we'll have some samples out to give you a better idea of what this will look like.
