The Tigerstar Connection
First there was Tigerstar, the evil antagonist of the Original Series. Then, there was his children, continuing his legacy, Tawnypelt, Mothwing, Brambleclaw, and Hawkfrost. Three cats turned out to be good, Tawnypelt, Mothwing, and eventually, Brambleclaw. Brambleclaw had been tempted to finish what Tigerstar had started, to murder his arch enemy, Firestar, but the tabby tom resisted, and pulled through back to the light of ThunderClan.
But of course, there is always the bad egg out of the litter. Hawkfrost, Brambleclaw’s half-brother, became the arch antagonist of the series by setting off a fox trap and luring Firestar into it. Now, in The Sight, Tigerstar had grandkits, Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw. It is hinted that Hollypaw, the black she-cat with green eyes, is the bad egg. All of the kits have a power, or at least, that is what the little information for The Sight at the back of Sunset says.
Power of Three
WARRIORS
Book One: The Sight
“There will be three, kin of your kin…..
Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw spring from a strong legacy: children of Squirellflight and Brambleclaw, two of the noblest ThunderClan warriors, and grandchildren of the great leader Firestar himself. All three young cats possess unusual power and talent that seem certain to provide strength to the Clan for the next generation.
But there are dark secrets around the three, and a mysterious prophecy hints at trouble to come. An undercurrent of rage is rising against those who are not Clanborn, and the warrior code is in danger of being washed away by a river of blood. All the young cat’s strength will be needed if the Clans are to survive.
….who hold the power of the stars in their paws."
Hollypaw is suggested to be evil from the excerpt from Dark River, where she sees Cinderpaw fall from a tree and not move. The working title for Dark River was The Curse, so one cat in the trio has something revolving around them with evil. Now, usually it wouldn’t be so bad, but there have already been two other cats, Tigerstar and Hawkfrost, who are related and evil.
Another thing is that Tigerstar is almost never absent from any of the books, even the Power of Three: The Sight. Tigerstar was mostly mentioned in the first series, being the main bad-guy, but he was also mentioned many times in Starlight, Twilight, and Sunset.
"Trembling with excitement, Brambleclaw pushed his way through the gorse tunnel in to the camp, his jaws parted to let out a yowl of greeting. Then he stopped dead. The clearing was completely empty, except for one cat sitting alone in the middle of the open space. The cat raised his head and gazed at Brambleclaw with scorching amber eyes. It was Tigerstar."

He is not even absent from the first book of the new series, The Sight.
