There are many errors and inconsistancies in the Warriors books, listed here.
Four authors, countless books, and over six-hundred characters-- you'd make mistakes too. So what are the mistakes in the warriors series? Big and small; they should be listed here.
General Mistakes And Odd Things
In Into the Wild, Highstones is partially capitalized (HighStones), but in later books, it is just Highstones.
In Into The Wild; it takes Firepaw one book to train for becoming a warrior, but when daughters train it takes them 4 books.
In Dawn and the books later, they've added a hyphen to the word "crowfood" ("crow-food")
Originally (in the first series), the word "Clanmate" did not have a space - it was "Clan mate". Later on they took out the space.
In the first two series, the Highrock and Highledge were called THE Highrock and THE Highledge. However, in the third series, the Highledge is just called "Highledge"; there is no "the" in front of it.
The fallen tree that creates the bridge to Gatherings switches directions multiple times. In Starlight, it originally fell from the island to the mainland - the top landed on Mudclaw. It is mentioned as facing the other way a few times, however. Exact mentions are noted in the individual book sections.
Mosskit (Bluestar's kit)'s gender keeps changing. Mosskit was a tom in Forest of Secrets and Secrets of the Clans, but a she-cat in Cats of the Clans and Bluestar's Prophecy.
Dovepaw's eye color is described as green, blue, and yellow in different places.

Paperback pg. 44 "How long will Blusetar sit with him?"
Paperback pg. 63 His head was spinnning with all the new smells and sights.
Paperback pg. 141 "It must be Blackfoot," mewed Grewpaw.
Pg. 267 "I promised ShadowClan we would leave them in peace until the next fullmoon." (there should be a space between "full" and "moon")
In some copies, when they're going to Highstones, it says, "Yes," replied Graypaw. "It runs up from ShadowClam territory".
Firepaw eats mouse the first night he comes to the Clan. The next day, they patrol the territory. The day after that, they learn how to hunt. However, when he scents the mouse, it mentions that he had tasted it for the first time the night before. It was two nights ago, not one.
Some she-cats, such as Bluestar, are called queens, even though they don't have kits. This only happened in Into the Wild.
In Into the Wild, they say several times that an apprentice has to make the journey to Highstones before becoming a warrior, but Graystripe and Fireheart are the only ones in the whole series to do this.
On page 211, Tigerclaw says ''She is in the hands of StarClan now." The cats do not know what hands are; they even call Twolegs' hands "paws".
Paperback pg. 15 Firepaw flexed his powerful hind legs and began to leap from boulder to boulder, leaving the camp behind.
Paperback pg. 32 "But his name - hasn't he been accepted by StarClan yet?" asked One-Eye. "He plans to travel to the Moonstone tomorrow night," Tigerclaw told him. (One-Eye is a she-cat)
On paperback page 33, Bluestar says, "Runningwind and Dustpaw, you will take the dawn patrol." However, the next morning, on page 39, it says, "As they headed out of camp, the two young warriors nearly crashed into Whitestorm, who was leading Sandpaw and Runningwind into the forest for the dawn patrol."
On paperback page 116, Fireheart asks Princess if she remembers their brothers and sister. Further down on the page, she says that their brothers and sisters are all in new homes.
Paperback pg. 246 Tigerclaw snorted in disbelief and Nightstar glared down at him. "Do you doubt the word of ShadowClan, Tigerclaw?" The crowd murmured uncomfortably as Tigerclaw stared back at Nightpelt with unconcealed distrust.
Paperback pg. 281 Fireheart picked out a mouse for Sandpaw, temptingly plump for so late in leaf-bare. (This is after her warrior ceremony.)
In Into the Wild, Bluestar tells Darkstripe that he's ready for his first apprentice. However, in Fire and Ice, when Longtail gets an apprentice, Bluestar says that Darkstripe was his mentor.
On paperback page 195, it says that Speckletail's kit is a dark tabby. In A Dangerous Path, Snowkit is white.
Paperback pg 248: ..."you are ready for another apprentice, and Cloudpaw is your sister's kit. You will be his mentor." (Bluestar has not officially given Cloudpaw his apprentice name yet.)
Cinderpaw is listed as Cinderpelt in the Allegiances, even though she hasn't received her name yet.
In Forest of Secrets, the RiverClan cats say that Greenflower will suckle Graystripe's kits. However, in Rising Storm, Graystripe says that Mosspelt takes care of them.
Fernpaw and Ashpaw were born in Into the Wild, while Cloudpaw was born in Fire and Ice. Even though he is younger, Cloudpaw is apprenticed before them.
In Rising Storm, Willowpelt has two she-cats and a tom. When these cats grow up, they are two toms and a she-cat.
When Goldenflower takes the kits out of the nursery in Rising Storm, and also when they are apprenticed in A Dangerous Path, Tawnykit is described as ginger. In The Darkest Hour and beyond, she is tortoiseshell.
Pg. 270 Darkstripe eyed Dustpelt with equal surprise, than (should be then) narrowed his eyes dangerously.
About Graystripe's kits, it says on paperback page 272: "The kits turned their amber eyes on Fireheart, staring up at him in awe." Feathertail has blue eyes when she grows up.
Paperback pg. 21 "This is just going to make her worse," Cinderpaw mewed.
Paperback pg. 52 "Tomorrow night is the new moon. All the other medicine cats will be there too." (Medicine cats meet on the half-moon)
On paperback page 54, Cinderpelt tells Fireheart that she's only been to Highstones once. She would have had to have gone at least twice, once to be apprenticed, and once to receive her full name. She also says that she has to go through the full-medicine-cat ceremony without Yellowfang, but she had to have had it already (when she recieved her name).
Paperback pg. 66 Another Twolegs stamped past.
On paperback page 108 Graystripe tells Fireheart how Leopardstar received her nine lives and name. He refers to her as Leopardstar, but on page 109, he calls her Leopardfur once.
Pg. 129 "I'm tired. My paws ache," the little tabby [Tawnykit the tortie] complained.
Paperback pg. 159 "I'm fine," Ravepaw replied.
Paperback pg. 207 His friend remember how upset he had been when Cinderpelt had her accident.
Paperback pg. 252 ... sitting side by side, watching approvingly as a group of their apprentices scuffled playfully with eachother.
Shadepelt aged quickly. She becomes a warrior in this book, suddenly she's an elder in Midnight, and in Dawn she's already too old to travel (hardcover page 225)
Boulder was originally a silver tabby, but now he's just plain gray.
Paperback pg. 30 "Sure, Fireheart."The wiry brown tabby got to her paws. (It's speaking about Mousefur, and she's not a tabby, just plain brown.)
Paperback pg. 125 "And those two warriors of Tigerclaw's don't help," Mistyfoot added.
Paperback pg. 153 The worst of Tawnypaw's fury was fading, though her amber eyes still burned. (She has green eyes in the Allegiances.)
Paperback pg. 157 How different he was now from the nervous apprentice he had once been, bullied by his fierce mentor, Tigerpaw!
Paperback pgs. 161-162 " In fact, most of the cats in the clearing came from ShadowClan, although he spotted the RiverClan warriors Mudfur (medicine cat) and Heavystep. There was no sign of either medicine cat, and Firestar wondered if that was significant."
Paperback pg. 197 "I don't expect TigerStar has left the ShadowClan camp unguarded."
Paperback pg. 201 Firestar called the meeting to the end and descended from the High Rock. (It's supposed to be Highrock, not High Rock)
Paperback pg. 202 Sandstrom let out a purr.
Paperback pg. 245 "If BloodClan ever get this far..." He stopped, his blue eyes worried. ("He" is Whitestorm, and Whitestorm's eyes are yellow.)
In the (modern) ShadowClan list, they have the "Apprentices" heading right under the "Warriors" heading. They never put the Apprentices heading for other Clans. Oakfur (apprentice, Tawnypaw) is listed after the heading, and he, of course, is a warrior.
In the Ancient Clan lists, they have no "Warriors" heading. All of the warriors are listed after the medicine cats, making it appear that there are two medicine cats in every Clan. (It can't be that they're medicine cat apprentices that recieved their full name; if that were the case, they'd be listed under the medicine cat's name as "apprentice, ____".)
Pg. 309 They had almost reached the path down the cliff when Sky let out a sharp exclamation and bounded ahead. (Should be Scratch)
Petal is called Petalnose on hardcover page 445, even though she doesn't receive her warrior name until page 450.
Hardcover pg. 451 Though he still had six lives, they could all be torn from him at once if his wounds were severe enough. (He's supposed to have eight lives left at this point, or seven if it takes place after when he helps Ravenpaw with rats)
In Midnight, twelve moons have passed between The Darkest Hour and Midnight. Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw are eight moons old, which means they were born 4 moons after The Darkest Hour. However, in Firestar's Quest, you have 5 moons after TDH + 1 moon to get there + about 1/2 to 2 moons there + another moon to get back + 3 moons till they're born + eight moons till the beginning of Midnight = about 17-19 moons, not 12.
In the Allegiances, Mintkit is a she-cat and Sagekit is a tom. However, in the text they have switched genders.
In the Allegiances, it says that the father of Fallowtail's kits is named Hunchfoot. There is no Hunchfoot in the book, and Waspwhisker is actually the father.
Billystorm is described at least once with green eyes (page 104, 198) and once with amber eyes (page 305)
- Crowpaw is listed in the Allegiances with blue eyes. On hardcover page 103 it says about him: "As the leaves rustled into place around him he glared at Brambleclaw with hostility in his green eyes."
Hardcover pg. 215 "I know Feathertail and Stormfur felt the Clan still blamed them for having a father in RiverClan."
- Birchkit is originally described as a pale gray cat, but once he is listed in the Allegiances as an apprentice, he becomes a brown tabby.
Hardcover pg. 16 "No, I'm fine on my own," Sormfur retorted.
Pg. 134 Brambleclaw was calm, his amber eyes meeting Stonefur's with a level stare.
Hardcover pg. 271 Tawnypelt stared at Feathertail with misery in her amber eyes.
- Sorreltail is still listed as Sorrelpaw in the Allegiances list.
- Hawkfrost becomes deputy when Mistyfoot disappears. He hasn't had an apprentice (he became a warrior in the moon before the beginning of Midnight, which wouldn't have been enough time to train an apprentice).
- On hardcover page 113 of Moonrise, Stoneteller's eyes are described as "a deep and glowing green". They're amber in the Dawn allegiances list.
- In Moonrise, Talon tells the traveling cats that he, Rock, and Bird were three of the cats chosen to attack Sharptooth (the other three had died.) In Dawn, a fourth outcast appears, Jagged Rock Where Heron Sits.
- Several Tribe cats in the Dawn allegiances do not appear in the books. Likewise, there were two cats in Moonrise that were in the books but not in the Dawn allegiances list: Scree Beneath Winter Sky and Mist Where Sunlight Shimmers.
- Rock and Bird, two of the outcasts, told their names in Moonrise: Rock Where Snow Gathers and Bird Who Rides The Wind. Their names changed in the Dawn Allegiances list: Rock Beneath Still Water and Bird That Sings At Dusk.
- Rock and Bird were described in Moonrise as a black tom and a gray-brown she-cat. In Dawn, they are a brown tom and a gray tabby she-cat.
Hardcover pg. 28-29 Finally she saw a shape she had hoped to find, the tortoiseshell-splashed fur familiar even in the gloom. "Brightheart!"
Hardcover pg. 120 The thought pieced her heart like a thorn.
Pg. 137 Duspelt raised his voice that his deep meow rang around the rock.
Hardcover pg. 178 Looking around, Squirrelpaw realized that all the cats that had returned from the sun-drown-place were with her - Brambleclaw, Stormfur, Crowpaw, and Tawnypaw.
Hardcover pg. 179 "They stopped the other monsters from coming here just before they started destroying our part of the forest," Tawnypaw whispered to Squirrelpaw.
Hardcover pg. 191 A shaft of pale sunlight sliced into the clearing and lit up the
ThunderClan's golden pelt. (It should be the ThunderClan leader's pelt. It is not a mistake that they said golden, however.)
Hardcover pg. 279 Fortunately Longtail was among the cats who had been ahead of the
RiverClan apprentice. (The apprentice in question is Smokepaw, a ShadowClan apprentice.)
Pg. 292 "But we never though this journey would be this hard!"
Hardcover pg. 296 "This one will be dead by sundown if she doesn't get some shelter," Leafpaw called. She was rubbing Marshkit, watched closely by his mother, Tallpoppy.
- On hardcover page 134, Leafpaw says that only she, Firestar, Cinderpelt, and Graystripe knew about the "fire and tiger" prophecy. However, Sandstorm knew as well in Midnight.
- On hardcover page 246, Ravenpaw, Barley, and Firestar are discussing where the Clans can shelter. Then Ravenpaw mentions the broken Twoleg nest: "Where you sheltered with Bluestar after the rat attack." In Into the Wild they never sheltered there.
- Smokepaw dies in Dawn, but comes back in the rest of TNP and even is a warrior in TPO3.
- Up until Dawn, Rowanclaw was a she-cat; he became a tom in Dawn.
- Tumblekit and Willowkit are Dawnflower's apprentices in Dawn. In Twilight, Willowkit is Mosspelt's kit (Tumblekit is forgotten), and Dawnflower has other kits.
- At the beginning, Mousefur is still a warrior with Spiderpaw as her apprentice, and only retires after he becomes a warrior. However, in the Allegiances, Mousefur is an elder already, and Spiderpaw is listed as Cloudtail's apprentice (even though he never was).
Hardcover pg. 7 "The journey has left us all tired and weak," Blackclaw of WindClan added.
Hardcover pg. 14 Whitetail blinked as if she couldn't quite believe him. (It's supposed to be Whitepaw of ThunderClan, not the WindClan she-cat.)
Hardcover pg. 30 Trust Blackclaw to think that other Clans were trying to steal an advantage... (They're talking about Blackstar, not the Riverclan warrior)
Hardcover pg. 71 ... and hardly looked up when Squirrelpaw dropped back to give him an affectionate nuzzle. (she's already a warrior)
- The Greenleaf Twolegplace (the campsite) isn't labled in the Starlight cat-map.
- The tabby kittypet in ShadowClan territory is called "he" several times in Starlight-Sunset, but Secrets of the Clans reveals that this cat is a she-cat named Susan.
"Hardcover pg. 109 Bramblelclaw's words could have been approving, but his tone was...
Pg. 152 ...Shrewpaw, who had died on their journey to the lake... (He had died before they left)
Hardcover pg. 169 Leafpaw blinked warmly at her friend, grateful that Mothwing was generous enough to remind her.
Hardcover pg. 293 "If a badger stepped on me, I'd bite it!" Hazelkit boasted. "You won't get the chance," his mother mewed.
- Crowfeather is frequently described with amber eyes, when he really has blue.

- "Horse place" has a space in it in Twilight, but no space (just "horseplace") in later books.
- Birchpaw was a gray cat as a kit, but in Sunset and later books he's brown.
Pg. 13 Brightheart's eyes gleamed, and she seemed to shake off some of her own weariness as she followed Leafpool to the den.
Hardcover pg. 128 "At least tonight is the quarter moon, and I'll be meeting her at the Moonpool."
Hardcover pg. 131 Leafpool halted at the top of a swell of moorland and looked back to see the quarter moon shining over the distant lake.
Hardcover pg. 189 Another cat had come up by Smoky, gazing at the two forest cats with curious eyes. Her pelt was gray and white like Daisy's; Brambleclaw wondered whether they might be littermates.
- Heavystep dies from greencough in Sunset, but comes back later in the books.
- In Sunset, Ripplepaw of RiverClan was a silver she-cat. In The Sight and beyond, Rippletail is a dark gray tom.
- Stonestream is already an elder, even though he just became a warrior in Twilight.
Hardcover pg. 8 "All the more reason for them to enjoy themselves now," Daisy replied. Jaypaw felt a wave of affection for the milky white she-cat.
Pg. 57 He had heard Daisy and Ferncloud talking about Hawkfrost, the RiverClan deputy who had died on ThunderClan territory, impaled on a wooden spike from a fox trap. (He was only deputy temporarily in Dawn, but was not still deputy when he died.)
Hardcover pg. 91 She stepped back from Jaypaw and lifted her chin. (He hasn't recieved his name yet.)
Hardcover pg. 276 Did that mean he couldn't tell her about Onestar's warning to Barkface? (Should be Tallstar instead of Onestar)
Hardcover pg. 325 Firestorm was grooming Sandstorm below Highledge.

- Sedgekit was a tom in Dark River.

- When Cinderpaw falls from the Sky Oak and Hollypaw goes to get help, the cats still with her are Mousepaw, Spiderleg, Cloudtail, and Brackenfur. However, on page 101, when Leafpool asks who is with Cinderpaw, Hollypaw says "Mousepaw, Ashfur, Cloudtail, and Brackenfur".
Hardcover pg. 263 Jaypaw felt Firestar's amber gaze warm his pelt.
- Ivytail was formerly described as brown, but she is a tortoiseshell in the Allegiances.

- Icewing had blue eyes in the Dark River Allegiances, but green in the Outcast allegiances.
- Pouncetail was originally a brown tabby, but now is ginger and white.

Hardcover pg. 220 Green eyes flashed in front of him. "Where's Heatherpaw?" Crowfeather was blocking his path.
- Briarkit is a she-cat, but is called "he" several times.
Hardcover pg. 17 Hazeltail launched himself onto the apprentice, trying to thrust him away from Birchfall.
Hardcover pg. 124 "What are we going to do about our mother?" Dawnpaw asked her brother and sister.
Hardcover pg. 84 "Hey, I look like you, don't I?" Tigerpaw interrupted, stretching out a paw to compare his golden pelt with Lionblaze's.
Hardcover pg. 216 ... "he and the kits are going to end up like Crowfeather and Breezepelt." (Breezepaw isn't a warrior yet by the end of this book.)
- In the prologue, the original Clan leaders are called Thunder, River, Wind, and Shadow. However, they had recieved leader names during their lives, so if they're in StarClan, they should be called Thunderstar, Windstar, Riverstar, and Shadowstar.
- Blossomkit has a tortoiseshell pelt with white patches in Eclipse (hardcover pg. 158 of Eclipse); in fact, she was named because the white patches looked like fallen petals. However, in the Long Shadows Allegiances, she is listed as a pale brown with a dark stripe along her spine.
- In the Eclipse Allegiances list, Sol is described as brown-and-tortoiseshell. Beginning in the Long Shadows, he is listed as a brown-and-white tabby.

Hardcover pg. 225 ... and hard on their paws came Onestar and Turnear.
Hardcover pg. 288 ''Don't worry," he whispered. "Your daughters will be fine. They will be loved and protected by their Clanmates.'' (They aren't born yet, so how does he know they're both female?)

Pg. 36 "Blackstar was Nightstar's deputy, then Tigerstar's..."
Pg. 42 "Cinderpelt was punished for raiding ThunderClan's store of herbs to cure two ShadowClan apprentices." (They're warriors, not apprentices, and ThunderClan never found out, so she was not punished.)

Pg. 80 "When she learned her brother was the leader of a Clan of forest cats, she gave him her firstborn kit, Cloudtail, beleiving..." (She didn't make up her mind because Firestar was a Clan leader; in fact, he wasn't even deputy at that point.)

- Not only did Squirrelflight not have a vigil, but she says that it was back in the old forest. She became a warrior in the new territories - it was after their journey.
