As they head back to camp, Fireheart tries to speak with Graystripe once more. He agrees to meet Silverstream only at foutrees, and for a moment it looks as if their friendship might heal. The moment is short lived, and Graystripe pulls ahead. Bluestar calls a meeting as they return to camp, announcing the situation and demanding more patrols as preparation for an attack. Meanwhile Cloudkit has gotten over his fever and is balling with a ball of moss. As the moss ball is tossed into the shadows, Tigerclaw appears from them, and gives Cloudkit back the toy. He coldly tells him (though he looks at Fireheart) that he should be careful not to lose such a precious plaything. Fireheart feels a chill, and can't help wonder if the message was for him. Does Tigerclaw see Cinderpaw as some plaything he wasn't careful with?
