Fireheart is amazed and hopeful -- this kitten could take away his loneliness, within the Clan -- another kittypet. And now that Cinderpaw won't become a warrior, ThunderClan needs more cats. Hope blinds whatever flaws exist in his plan until he reaches camp, where not a single voice of support is offered, save for Graystripe, but his support is short lived. Princess's son has no chance if he doesn't have the support of Bluestar, but she is obviously not impressed. She retires to think about it, so Fireheart takes the little kit to the warriors den. It's hungry and voices the complaint, but fortunately Frostfur hears the kit and takes it to Brindleface, whom she convinces to suckle it. Brindleface is reluctant, as she just lost one of her kits and is in great pain. Now that Brindleface will take care of it, Bluestar agrees to allow the kit to stay, and will name it Cloudkit. There will be no naming ceremony.
