Fireheart and Graystripe take Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw out. The mentors head to sunningrocks to treach thier apprentices to hunt voles. Graystripe races out onto the ice to catch a vole, but the creature escapes as he falls into the icy water. Fireheart freezes in fear as his friend struggles to fight the current, but he is fortunately saved by a beautiful RiverClan she-cat. As they thank Silverstream and head back to camp, Cinderpaw teases Graystripe as the gray tom continues to look back towards the river.
