Fireheart and Graystripe's vow of silence after their warrior ceremony breaks with the dawn, so they go to get some breakfast and get some sleep in their new spots in the Warrior's den. Fireheart worries over his new knowledge of Tigerclaw's treachery, but Graystripe is skeptical, and warns him to be careful of what he does with his story. Before the Clan's party heads to the gathering, Goldenflower's son Swiftpaw is apprenticed to Longtail, and Fireheart feels bitter at the way that Longtail is welcoming to his new apprentice when he treated Fireheart so poorly. Soon they head off for fourtrees, but Fireheart approaches Bluestar and tells her about his suspicions that Tigerclaw murdered Redtail. Bluestar is incredulous, and says that by saying this Fireheart is making implications on Redtail's honor -- if the story is true, then Redtail would have killed Oakheart, a dishonorable act. Bluestar blames the story on Ravenpaw's vivid imagination. Frustrated, but without another option, Fireheart accepts what she says and they continue to the gathering.
