Hi everyone!

It’s tour time! Vicky is in the US right now—for full details of locations and a chance to read her daily tour diary, go to warriorcats.com. She’d love to see as many of you as possible and hear what you think of Firestar's Quest. Don’t let her get lonely in those big ol’ bookstores!

We’ve been doing lots of interviews recently for radio shows and newspapers, because it looks as if WARRIORS is being touted as the "next big thing" after Harry Potter. Of course, we know it’s been "the big thing" for years, but it’s amazing—and very humbling—to be put in the spotlight and compared with a phenomenon like The Boy Wizard. But it’s very hard to answer the question which gets asked every time: Why is WARRIORS so successful?

We could say it’s because loads of people like cats (especially sleek, beautiful cats doing fabulous feral things in a picturesque landscape), or we could say it’s because we deal with issues that matter to Twolegs (like bullying, rivalry, and friendships) in feline format. Can you imagine us being allowed to write about all the death and fighting and spilling blood if we were dealing with people instead of cats? Using animal characters gives us an incredible degree of freedom to tackle the toughest issues—which we know matter to you just as much as the smaller things in life.

But really, the main reason WARRIORS is so successful is because of YOU, our fabulous readers who go out and buy the books and spread the word and put every title at the top of the bestseller lists. So thank you, from all three of us! Ideally, Vicky would meet every single one of you to give you a hug and find out what your favorite title is, and what you think should happen next. Given that there are so many of you, that’s an impossible task, but the great thing about being on tour is that she’ll have a chance to meet some of you, and hopefully let you know just how thrilled and grateful we are that you’ve made our feral feline fantasy the success that it is.

Very best wishes,
Erin
