Hi everyone!

So, did you download After Sunset: We Need To Talk from WarriorCats.com? Have you figured out the clues yet? And no, I’m not about to reveal all in this letter! J If you think you have worked out what’s really going on in the play, well done. I hope it makes Power of Three even more enjoyable for you!

I see each Warriors series as a giant jigsaw puzzle, with different pieces adding up to make the individual books which in turn fit together to make the whole. Some of the piecescharacter, dialogue, plotrelate to a single book, while others are part of the overall story and might not make sense until you reach the last page of Book Six—or even the next series.

I’m a huge fan of crime fiction, and I love reading books where the author has laid enough clues to enable you to solve the mystery at the same time as the main characters—or even before! The answer mustn’t be too obvious or there’s no reason to read right to the end to see if you’re right. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise either, because it will feel unconvincing. Although Warriors isn’t a murder-mystery, there are always several storylines playing out alongside each other, developing at different rates, and it’s important to keep adding pieces to the jigsaw even if they won’t be completed for a few more books. In order to keep track of all the storylines, I need to plan them well in advance, so I know which bits of the jigsaw to add into each book in order to sort everything out by the end. So, yes, I know what’s going to happen in Book Six of Power of Threeand even in Book Six of the next series! Of course I’m not going to tell you, but I promise that I’m laying clues already so if you read carefully, you might just find out…

Very best wishes,
Erin
