Hi everyone
Important announcement for all Warriors fans: There are less than
two weeks to go before the most important date this year! Which is
of course Tuesday April 24th, when Power of Three Book One:
The Sight and Warriors Manga One: The Lost Warrior
go on sale. Hmmm, which one will you read first? And it’s also
the day I start my tour! I’m beyond excited at the thought of
getting to meet some of you in person, and hear firsthand what you
think of the books so far. Please come visit me on tour!
Click here for a full list of dates and venues.
And if the thought of waiting until Tuesday 24th is just too
unbearable, those lovely people behind the official Warriors website
have agreed to give you a sneak peek! Check out www.warriorcats.com
for a chance to read excerpts from
The Sight and
The Lost Warrior. Don’t all
rush at once, you could bring down the site!
As part of the school and bookstore events, I’ve written a very
short play set in between Sunset and The Sight, in
which a few familiar faces meet on the WindClan border. Eight people
at each event will get the chance to act out the play right there,
with a little direction from me! Don’t worry, there won’t be any
words to learn because everybody will be reading from the scripts.
If you listen carefully, there are several clues hidden in the scene
about things that later become very important in Power of Three. If
you quiz me during the event, I won’t tell you if you’re right—as
always, I don’t want to give too much away or you won’t need to read
the books!—but it’ll be interesting to see if anyone guesses exactly
what’s going on.
For those of you who can’t make it to an author event, I’ll post the
complete script on warriorcats.com when I get back to the UK.
I had a special treat in the mail last week: an advance copy of
The Lost Warrior. At last, here is the answer to the question I
have been asked so many times: WHAT HAPPENED TO GRAYSTRIPE? I
haven’t read much manga before so I’m quite a novice, which made me
even more curious to see how the first story would turn out. Even
though I provided the storyline for the script, it was still
astonishing to see scenes that I’d previously imagined in words
brought to life in pictures. The action feels fresh, vivid and
breathless, and the short punchy dialogue works really well with the
illustrations. Graystripe is brilliant—he totally deserves to be the
hero of his own mini-series!
Thanks to all of you who visited the website to let us know what
you’d like to see featured in future special editions. Huge thank
yous to the thousands of you who took part. We haven’t finished
collating the results yet, but I promise you’ll be the first to know
what everyone has requested.
I’m off to get some rest now—April’s going to be a busy month for
all of us!
Very best wishes,
Erin
