AuthorTracker :: Erin Hunter

Hi everyone,

The New Prophecy Book Five: Twilight did indeed beat the boy-wizard so thank you very, very much for keeping our gorgeous cats at the top of the bestseller lists! I had a look at a copy of Twilight and it felt like discovering the story all over again because that script was finished over a year ago. A lot has happened since then, plus of course I’m a whole generation ahead of you now that I’m working on the next series, Power of Three. I find it so hard not to give away what’s going to happen because I have the whole six-book arc pretty much mapped out already. It’s far easier to fill in the gaps between A and Z than to set off with no idea where you’re going to end up.

J K Rowling famously has the last ever chapter of the Harry Potter series written; I haven’t gone quite that far but I must admit I’ve given quite a lot of thought to how I’d like this series to end. Sometimes I find myself writing scenes in my head when I’m sitting on the bus or walking my dog, although I often forget them by the time I’m in a position to write them down. I’ll sit at my computer desperately trying to remember that brilliant conversation between Brambleclaw and Firestar, or exactly what Squirrelflight did that was so noble and daring. It’s so frustrating!

Very best wishes,
Erin
